How I Boosted Organic Traffic by 30% for a Mindfulness Platform with Over 250,000 Students

Find What Feels Good (FWFG)
Find What Feels Good (FWFG) is a leading online mindfulness platform founded by renowned yoga teacher Adriene Mishler. With a global community of over 250,000 students, the platform offers guided video courses in yoga, breathwork, qigong, and meditation. Their mission is to help people “find what feels good” through embodied, conscious practices that support both physical and emotional well-being.
Their site, fwfg.com, serves as the digital hub for their courses, memberships, blog, and community.
Challenges Identified
FWFG had a loyal audience, strong video content, and an authentic brand. However, their organic search performance was underwhelming for the site’s potential.
Despite offering top-tier content, they were missing out on thousands of potential new students searching for terms like:
“online breathwork classes”
“free qigong videos”
“meditation for stress”
“daily yoga practice online”
Upon initial review, I found that:
The site was not ranking for many relevant non-branded keywords
Site speed and mobile UX were hindering crawlability and engagement
There was no backlink strategy, despite a strong brand reputation
On-page SEO was inconsistent, especially for category and blog content
💡 The Process
I performed a deep technical SEO audit using Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and Google Search Console, uncovering:
Orphan pages
Missing H1s and metadata inconsistencies
Slow-loading assets on mobile
Duplicate content from overlapping course topics
Blog content not structured for SEO
We segmented the keyword research into four intent buckets:
Informational – “what is qigong”, “meditation online course”
Navigational – “fwfg breathwork course”
Transactional – “online mindfulness subscription”, “best yoga membership”
Local/Branded crossover – although not local SEO per se, we optimized for “Adriene yoga community” type searches that blended brand & service discovery.
FWFG had a loyal influencer and partner base but wasn’t leveraging it.
We launched a “Content Collaboration Outreach” program with wellness blogs and influencers, resulting in 32 high-quality backlinks from DR 40+ domains
Created data-backed blog posts and guides (e.g. “Global Trends in Mindfulness Practices 2025”) that were picked up by wellness aggregators
Used HARO (Help a Reporter Out) to earn backlinks from health and lifestyle publications
Minified CSS/JS, implemented lazy loading for images
Set up Cloudflare CDN for faster global performance
Made mobile-first improvements using Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights
Implemented proper hreflang and canonical tags to eliminate duplication
🏆 Results Achieved
The implemented strategies led to significant improvements:
Now rankings for 450 new high-intent keywords.
25% increase in organic traffic in 6 months:
📉 Bounce rate dropped by 15% on blog pages
📩 14% increase in course signups directly attributed to organic search
Testimonial
“Working with Wellington was a game-changer. We thought SEO meant just tweaking a few blog titles — but he showed us how strategic and technical it really is.
He deeply understood the wellness space. From auditing our broken links to rewriting content to better serve our community — every action had a purpose. We loved how he connected keyword research with real user intent, not just volume.
Our visibility has never been better, and more importantly, we’re attracting students who align with our mission.”
